A few years ago, something special happened: Alex and Izabela visited a coffee roastery in Brooklyn, NY. What struck them immediately was the strong smell of coffee, the cool atmosphere, and the hardworking people making it. This visit gave Alex and Izabela the idea to start their own Cafe, Java Smugglers, in Boonton, NJ.
The Start of Java Smugglers
Java Smugglers was founded in February 2021. Alex and Izabela started selling their coffee at farmers’ markets and events. In 2022, with a growing demand for their coffee, Alex sold his car to buy a mobile cafe and juice bar bus. Because of their endless efforts, they started their very first Cafe in 2023 at 922 Main St. Boonton, NJ.
Special Coffee from Bali
Well, Java Smugglers boasts unique coffee. Their beans are from Bali, which they claim makes for more tender digestion and won’t cause acid reflux to occur. That means you can enjoy their setting or their coffee without feeling the discomfort it brings.
They even have this special kind of bourbon coffee: two-month-old bourbon barrels. Some like how it gives the coffee a special flavor without allowing it to taste alcohol. It’s just fabulous!

Java Smugglers isn’t just a place to get coffee. They also offer cool summer drinks like cucumber mint lemonade, berry hibiscus iced tea, and ruby spritzer, perfect for hot days.

Java Smugglers also sells tons of awesome stuff, such as Bourbon Barrel Aged Whole Bean Coffee, Miraculum Single Origin Premium Coffee, Rum Barrel Aged Coffee, and Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans so that you can enjoy their coffee at home. As part of the effort to give more local suppliers a helping hand, they also feature local honey and maple syrup products manufactured by Neshanic Valley Beekeepers.
