The Great Swamp Watershed Association is welcoming spring with a creative and community focused celebration in Morristown. On Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 5:30 PM, the organization will host a National Plant a Flower Day “Plant & Sip” event designed to highlight the beauty and importance of native flowers.

Held at GSWA headquarters in Morristown, the evening will transform the space into a hands on floral workshop where guests can decorate their own terracotta pots and plant native flower seeds just in time for the growing season.

What to Expect

Attendees will enjoy:

• A guided terracotta pot styling and planting activity
• Native flower seeds to take home and grow
• Flower themed cocktails and mocktails
• Botanical inspired snacks
• A fun pub style quiz focused on native flower knowledge, with prizes

The event blends creativity, education, and community connection while promoting the value of native plants in supporting pollinators, wildlife, and local ecosystems.

Admission Details

Admission is free for all non members. GSWA members can also attend for free when they bring a non member guest. Individual member admission without a guest is $25.

Spots are limited, and advance registration is encouraged. Guests can reserve their spot online at greatswamp.org/events.

Celebrating Native Flowers and Local Conservation

National Plant a Flower Day serves as a reminder of the role flowers play in strengthening local habitats and supporting biodiversity. Through events like this, the Great Swamp Watershed Association continues its mission to protect water resources and promote environmental stewardship across northern New Jersey.

For those looking to welcome spring in a meaningful way while learning more about native plants, this Plant & Sip event offers a festive and educational start to the season.
