Eleventh Hour Rescue is bringing Puptoberfest back to Roxbury Township this fall. The 2026 edition takes over Horseshoe Lake, 72 Eyland Avenue in Succasunna, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and it runs rain or shine.
Puptoberfest is the rescue’s big annual fall fundraiser, and it draws a crowd. Eleventh Hour Rescue estimates more than 3,000 people come out for the day, which makes it one of the larger pet-friendly events on the Morris County calendar. Every ticket and raffle sale supports the dogs and cats in the rescue’s care.
The centerpiece is adoption. Adoptable dogs and cats will be on site, so families who have been thinking about adding a pet can meet a few in person. The bandstand hosts contests for the best dog costume, which means plenty of pups in fall outfits, and the grounds also feature a Memory Lane photo display.
There is a lot to do between the adoptions and the contests. The Tricky Tray has more than 70 baskets, and the high dollar 50/50 raffle carries a potential payout of up to $20,000. More than 60 vendors will be set up around the park, along with food trucks and Eleventh Hour Rescue merchandise. The first 500 attendees through the gate get a free tote bag, so arriving early pays off.
Dogs are welcome, as long as they stay on a leash. The rescue asks guests to leave retractable leashes at home.
Admission is $11 for adults and $5 for students, and children under 5 get in free. A family ticket covering up to five people costs $30.
