The annual First Night Morris County event will occur on December 31, 2024, in downtown Morristown, NJ. Now in its 33rd year, this event is the largest of its kind in New Jersey and provides a family-friendly, alcohol and substance-free way to celebrate the New Year.

First Night Morris County Event Information

First Night Morris County 2025 will feature 70 performances spread across 23 venues, including options for in-person, streaming, and on-demand access. The program includes live music (rock, jazz, classical, and opera), theater, visual arts, children’s activities, a film festival, and more. Performances are designed to appeal to a wide range of ages and interests.

The event begins at 4:30 PM and runs until midnight, concluding with a countdown to welcome the New Year. Those attending earlier in the evening will also experience a countdown at 9:15 PM.

First Night Morris County Tickets and Pricing

Tickets for the event, grant access to all performances and activities. Pricing is $25 for a single ticket or $90 for a four-pack until December 21, after which prices increase to $30 for a single ticket and $95 for a four-pack.

Tickets can be purchased online at FirstNightMorris.org, by phone, or at the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) Box Office. On the day of the event, tickets can be picked up or purchased at various locations, including the MPAC Box Office, Morristown Library, and the Hyatt Regency Morristown.

New Features and Highlights

New historical venues will be introduced this year, hosting performances from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. A Children’s Fun Festival will be held at Morristown High School between 4:45 PM and 9:00 PM, and an on-demand film festival will start at 6:00 PM. Complimentary shuttle services and parking at Morristown parking garages will be available starting at 4:00 PM.

First Night Morris County began in 1992 and is organized by a non-profit group supported by volunteers. The event’s goal is to offer an affordable and accessible cultural experience for the community, showcasing a diverse range of artistic performances.

All in-person venues are located within walking distance of each other in downtown Morristown. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for certain performances, as seating may be limited. A mobile app and print program will be available to help guests navigate the event.

The event also offers on-demand access to programs from 4:30 PM on December 31, 2024, through 4:30 PM on January 1, 2025, providing flexibility for attendees who may prefer to enjoy performances virtually.
