Send me the listMorris County Vocational School District student, Duncan Felch who is in the Academy for Education and Learning at the Morris County School of Technology (MCST) in Denville, has been selected as a NJ State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Student Ambassador.
Duncan is joined by a group of only eight students throughout New Jersey who also received this distinction to represent NJSIAA student-athletes. This new class was recently welcomed at the start of the school year and they will come together to collaborate, share ideas, and promote sportsmanship.
Dr. Anita Champagne, Superintendent of the Morris County Vocational School District stated, “It is an honor to have a student from the Morris County Vocational School District, specifically MCST, selected as an NJSIAA Student Ambassador. This is an incredible responsibility for Duncan, as he will serve as the voice of many young athletes across the State of New Jersey. I have no doubt that he will excel in this leadership role, reflecting MCVSD’s mission to inspire and prepare students to succeed. Congratulations to Duncan Felch on this esteemed accomplishment!”
In addition to serving on MCST’s Student Council as class of 2027 president, Duncan is on the Varsity Boys Basketball, Varsity Boys Cross Country (captain), and Secretary for MCC.
“Being selected as an NJSIAA Student Ambassador is an incredible honor,” said Duncan Felch. “I’m excited to represent my school [Morris County School of Technology] and peers while promoting the values of sportsmanship, leadership, and inclusion that high school athletics stand for. My role as a voice for student athletes across New Jersey, helping to foster positive experiences on and off the court. This opportunity motivates me to lead by example and to help create a lasting impact in our athletic community.”
Conor Devine, Assistant Principal at Morris County School of Technology, says “Duncan is a great representative of all that it takes to be a successful student athlete in an academically rigorous environment like MCST. It is also important to note that he is the only representative in this year’s cohort from an NJAC school as well as the only representative selected statewide from a county vocational-technical school.”
The NJSIAA Student Ambassador Program will promote leadership, in the classroom and on athletic fields, sportsmanship, the health and safety of student-athletes, and to enhance positive relationships with coaches, officials and other student-athletes. The NJSIAA Student Ambassadors will work to represent the perspective of all NJSIAA student-athletes by presenting their feedback to the NJSIAA Executive Committee and Staff which will thereby assist in decision making and development of initiatives for future improvement that will benefit all NJSIAA member schools.
Morris County Vocational School District (MCVSD) offers a wide range of career and technical education programs that inspire and prepare students to succeed in today’s world and pursue tomorrow’s opportunities.
