Middle schoolers in Morris County have a new place to talk things through this school year. Pathways to Empowerment, the Parsippany nonprofit, is launching Pathways to Connection, a peer support and social-emotional growth group for students in grades 6 to 8. The group begins in November 2026 at Saint Elizabeth University in Morristown, and space is limited.
The program’s tagline sums it up: “A safe place to talk. A place to belong. A place to grow.” Students join a small, consistent group of peers that stays together all year. They talk openly about friendships, emotions, school, family and everyday life, and they practice real skills for handling big feelings and tough moments. It is not a class, so there are no grades and no homework, just support and connection.

Sessions run on Mondays from 6:00 to 7:15 PM, twice a month, from November 2026 through June 2027, for 16 sessions in all. The group meets in the Mahoney Library at Saint Elizabeth University, 2 Convent Road in Morristown. Specific Monday dates are not listed on the flyer, so reach out to Pathways to Empowerment with any scheduling questions.
The group is offered in partnership with Saint Elizabeth University. Sessions are led by trained SEU doctoral students and supervised by Dr. Christina Liparini, with a Pathways to Empowerment staff member on site at every session.
The program fee is $25 per session, and a sliding scale is available. Those fees help the nonprofit offer these groups free to low-income and immigrant families in the community, and families who are concerned about cost are encouraged to reach out.
To sign up, parents fill out the short Pathways to Connection parent registration form. Payment information is sent once the form is approved, and the form also asks whether your family would like an interpreter or translated materials. Questions can go to (973) 224-0355 by call or text, or to hello@pathwaystoempowermentnj.org. You can learn more about the nonprofit at pathwaystoempowermentnj.org and on Instagram at @pathwaystoempowerment_nj.
