Downtown Boonton is getting a fresh landmark, and you can watch it come to life.
Muralist Jenna Morello is painting a big “Welcome to Boonton” mural on the brick wall at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and Main Street in Boonton, NJ. She is out painting all day on Friday, October 30, so anyone downtown can stop by and see it take shape.
Who Is Jenna Morello?
Morello is a Brooklyn based artist known for large indoor and outdoor murals. Her best known piece is “Saint Liberty,” the building high mural on the front of RiseNY in Times Square, and her work also appears inside the World Trade Center. You can see more of her murals on her website.
She also has a local tie. Morello grew up right here in Morris County, in Kinnelon.
Where to See the Mural
The mural is on Main Street at the corner of Myrtle Avenue, right in the heart of downtown Boonton. While you are there, it is an easy walk to the shops, cafes and restaurants along Main Street.
Thanks to Boonton Main Street
The project comes to town thanks to Boonton Main Street (@btnmainstreet on Instagram), the group that works year round to bring events, art and new energy to downtown Boonton.
Stop by, snap a photo and tag @shopmorriscounty when you do. We would love to see the progress.
