Eleventh Hour Rescue (EHR), a Morris County-based no-kill dog & cat rescue, has been again selected as one of only a few tri-state area shelters to participate in an on-site fundraiser broadcast LIVE via Facebook with national rescue charity Jordan’s Way on Saturday, July 12, from 6pm to 9pm at Eleventh Hour’s Roxbury Mall Adoption Center. When they visited back in 2023, EHR raised over $50k with just this one fundraising event!
Jordan’s Way was founded by Kris Rotonda, a NJ native, in honor of his rescue dog, Jordan, who passed away in 2018. Since then, Kris has been on a mission to raise money and awareness for rescues in all 50 states. He has been on a tour since January of 2021 with the goal of helping as many shelters & rescues as possible, with just over 300 already visited. To date, these live stream events have raised over $12 million. A recent Jordan’s Way fundraiser at a Wisconsin animal rescue hit the $137K mark and EHR would love nothing more than to beat that amount and become a leader of the tour!
How does Jordan’s Way fundraiser work? The event will live stream from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday, July 12, 2025, on the Eleventh Hour Rescue Facebook page (address is: www.Facebook.com/EleventhHourRescue). This will go out to the EHR & Jordan’s Way combined fanbase of over 950K social media followers. During that time, Rotonda will be on-site at the Roxbury Adoption Center to showcase some of EHR’s long-term, special needs, and senior animals available for adoption. Meanwhile, the EHR team of volunteers & guests will participate in games and challenges to encourage online donations. This could be getting a pie to the face, submitting to the ice bucket challenge, attempting to complete a certain number of sit ups, pushups, or similar physical fitness challenges, getting “bailed out” of sitting in a puppy pen, and many other activities both planned and spur of the moment. The questions of the evening will be – what is someone willing to do for our rescue? How much will it cost? And how much would someone else be willing to pay to see this done?
Both the public and EHR supporters can participate by tuning in to the live stream event, sharing, liking, and, most importantly, DONATING! Area businesses are encouraged to commit to donation matches, receiving shout outs and recognition in real time on the feed. Even better, if they want to stop in to present the donation live, they can plug themselves to an audience of thousands and participate in a challenge or two! Community supporters who have their own social media following are encouraged to volunteer to attend a half hour “guest spot” during the event and participate in activities while urging their own supporters to donate.
EHR’s goal is to bring in as much funding as possible in the three-hour time block this year. The rescue who raises the most during this portion of the Jordan’s Way 50 State Tour will receive an additional $25,000!!
“We are so excited to be chosen – this is a chance to bring awareness and attention to some of our long term dogs & cats,” said EHR Kennel Manager Alex Galdi. “Myself and our Enrichment Coordinator Nicole have already pledged to spend the night in a dog run when we hit the $50,000 mark. There will be some special guests from the community making an appearance throughout the evening and we plan to have a lot of fun. We expect many faces will be pied, ice buckets dumped, hair will be dyed, possibly some heads shaved, and a crew of volunteers offering to get a tattoo if we reach $75k!”
