Baseball Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera is bringing his new hot sauce line to Morris County. The former New York Yankees closer will appear at the ShopRite of Rockaway on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate the New Jersey launch of Mo’s Heat.

Shoppers can meet Rivera, take photos, and sample all three sauces at the store, which sits at 437 Route 46 in Dover and is owned and operated by Glass Gardens, Inc. Representatives of the Glass family and the store team are scheduled to take part. There is no admission charge. Rivera will be available for media interviews from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., before the public portion begins.

Mo’s Heat is an officially licensed Major League Baseball hot sauce brand that Rivera built around his upbringing in Puerto Caimito, Panama. The sauces are made in partnership with D’Elidas, one of Panama’s longest running hot sauce producers, and draw on a family recipe brought to Panama from the Caribbean in 1904.

Each of the three sauces is named for one of Rivera’s pitches. The Cutter is the signature blend, smooth at the front and building into a lingering heat, and the brand suggests it for soups, pasta, meat, fish, shellfish, sandwiches, rice, and pizza. The Curve is the brightest of the three, crisp and herbaceous thanks to green habaneros. The Sinker is the most approachable, made with fully ripened red habaneros for a rounder flavor with gradual heat and a little sweetness. Bottles are 5 ounces and sell for $9.99 each on the brand’s site, with a three-pack at $27.99, and a store locator tracks where the sauces are stocked.

Rivera pitched all 19 of his major league seasons with the Yankees, recorded a record 652 saves, won five World Series titles, and in 2019 became the only player ever elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by unanimous vote.

The Rockaway appearance is the third New Jersey stop of the summer for Mo’s Heat, following the ShopRite of New Milford in June and the ShopRite of Greater Morristown on August 6. The Route 46 corridor through Dover and Rockaway has been one of the busier retail stretches in the county this year, part of a long list of new stores and restaurants opening across Morris County.

The event also lands in the last full week of summer, alongside a run of festivals, fairs, and concerts happening across Morris County before Labor Day.
