Pink Witches Night Out, the breast cancer awareness night that turns Downtown Denville pink every fall, returns on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. along Broadway in Denville. The event is free to attend, and it is one of the biggest nights on the Denville calendar.
The night is organized by the Kathy Olenowski Foundation, a Denville nonprofit, and every dollar raised supports local women going through cancer treatment. According to the foundation, Pink Witches Night Out has raised more than $200,000 since it began. In 2025 alone, the committee and its sponsors donated $85,000 to a mother fighting cancer.
The story behind it is a Denville story. Meg Olenowski started Pink Witches Night Out in 2012 to honor her mother, Kathy Olenowski, a Denville business owner who died of cancer in 2011 at age 55. The first event was held in a single downtown store and raised $400 for one local resident. It has since grown into a night when the whole community fills Broadway, and the foundation now calls it the best breast cancer awareness event in New Jersey.
Expect a downtown dressed in pink, with Downtown Denville businesses taking part on Broadway alongside a vendor village set up for the night. Admission costs nothing, so the fundraising comes from donations, sponsorships and merchandise.
If you want to support the cause and take something home, swag bags are $30 and are picked up at the event between 5:30 and 8 p.m. As of October 2, the $24 early bird drink tickets and the $125 VIP lounge package, which is limited to guests 21 and over, were listed as sold out. Anyone who cannot make it can still give through the foundation’s donation page. October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which makes the timing fitting.
Denville stays busy the next day too. On Saturday, October 17, The Witchery returns to Ayres Knuth Farm in Denville, so it is easy to make a full weekend of it. Planning dinner before the night out?
