Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday, October 31, which is about the best draw Morris County could ask for. A Saturday Halloween means towns can spread trick-or-treat, trunk or treats, and haunted trails across a full weekend instead of squeezing everything into a school night. This is our running guide to what is happening across the county, and we update it through September and October as towns confirm their plans.
Confirmed Morris County Halloween events
Morristown has its date locked. The downtown trick-or-treat runs Friday, October 30, from 3 to 5 p.m., with costumed kids collecting from participating businesses around the Green. The Morristown Partnership has been running it for close to 30 years.
Randolph has the fullest lineup in the county so far, and all of it is confirmed. The Haunted Trail runs Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. nightly at Veterans Community Park. Earlier that Saturday, Trail of Treats runs 12 to 2 p.m. at the same park as a low-scare, daylight option, and Trunk or Treat follows from 2 to 4 p.m. at Brundage Park. October 25 is the rain date for all three.

Farms, corn mazes, and haunted attractions
The Chester farm corridor does most of the heavy lifting on the daytime side. Alstede Farms, Stony Hill Farms, and Riamede Farm all run pumpkin picking and corn mazes through October, and several add flashlight maze nights on weekends once it gets dark early. For anyone who actually wants to be scared, 13th Hour in Wharton is the biggest haunted attraction in the county, with three separate haunted houses plus escape rooms and hatchet throwing on the same site. Farm haunt and haunted house season dates are usually posted in September, so confirm directly before driving out.
When towns post trick-or-treat hours
Most Morris County towns set official trick-or-treat hours between late September and the second week of October, and they usually go out through the police department or the recreation department rather than the main township page. The typical window runs somewhere between 3 and 8 p.m. Because Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, expect more towns than usual to keep trick-or-treat on October 31 itself instead of shifting it.
Still to be announced
As of early August, the following are not public yet: Parsippany’s Trunk or Treat date, official trick-or-treat hours for most of the 39 towns, farm and haunted attraction season dates, and the school, church, and fire department trunk or treats that fill out the calendar. We add them here as they are confirmed rather than guessing.
