The Morristown Festival on the Green returns to downtown Morristown on Sunday, September 27, 2026, running from noon to 5 p.m. rain or shine. This year marks the 31st annual edition of what the Morristown Partnership calls the premier fall festival in Northern New Jersey.

The festival started in 1994 and has grown into an afternoon that pulls thousands of people from across the tristate area into the historic downtown. More than 170 exhibitors set up along the streets around the Green, a mix of Morristown restaurants, retail shops, and community groups that use the day to introduce themselves to people who might otherwise only pass through town.

Entertainment is spread across five separate areas rather than concentrated on a single stage, with non-stop performances for all ages running through the afternoon. The layout also includes children’s amusements and carnival games, and there is a beer tent for adults who want to sit down for a while.

Because the festival takes over a working downtown, the easiest approach is to arrive early and plan on walking. The Morristown Farmers Market also runs that same Sunday at Spring and Morris Streets, so anyone heading in for the festival can make a morning of it before the noon start.

Businesses and community groups that want a table can still apply. The Morristown Partnership takes exhibitor applications through its festival page and can be reached at festival@morristown-nj.org.

The festival is the front end of a busy stretch downtown. Halloween Trick-or-Treat in downtown Morristown follows on Friday, October 30, and Santa’s Arrival and the Lighting of the Morristown Green is set for Saturday, November 28, which kicks off the Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green running Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through December.

If you are making a day of it, our guide to the best restaurants in Morristown covers where to eat once the festival winds down, and apple picking season across Morris County is running at the same time if you want to stretch the weekend into something bigger.
