Downtown Morristown’s Halloween trick-or-treat returns on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 3 to 5 p.m. Costumed kids collect treats from participating businesses across the downtown, and the Morristown Partnership has been running the tradition for close to 30 years.
The format is simple. Participating businesses display a Participant Pumpkin sign so families can tell at a glance who is handing out treats, and kids work their way around the storefronts. Most shops take part at their own address, and a limited number of spots are reserved on the Morristown Green itself for businesses that do not have a storefront a child can safely reach.
There is no registration for families. You show up in costume. Sign-ups are for Morristown businesses and organizations only, and they run on a rolling basis through the Morristown Partnership event page, where shops choose whether they are offering candy, non-food treats, or an activity. Since it runs 3 to 5 p.m. on a Friday, downtown is already busy when it starts and parking fills early. The garages are a safer bet than circling for a street spot. Sidewalks get tight once the strollers are out, so families with younger kids tend to start closer to 3 than to 4.
Worth noting that this is a warm-up, not a replacement. Halloween itself falls on Saturday, October 31 in 2026, and Morristown’s residential trick-or-treat hours are posted separately closer to the date. We will add them here once they are official.
