Boonton’s youngest ghouls and goblins get a night of their own this fall. The Boonton Police Department, the Boonton Fire Department and Boonton Parks and Recreation are teaming up to present the Trick or Treat Trail on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grace Lord Park, at West Main Street and Essex Avenue in Boonton.
The setup is simple and built for little legs. Several decorated displays line the trail, and kids in costume work their way from one to the next collecting treats and small treasures. It is a compact, walkable alternative to going door to door, set in the same riverside park Boonton families know from summer concerts and walks to the falls.
Admission is paid in candy, not cash. The flyer from Boonton Parks and Recreation asks for one bag of factory-sealed candy per child to get in, and the town’s official event listing asks for one large bag of factory-sealed candy per person entering, so the easy move is to pack a bag for everyone in your group. Pets are not permitted, so the dog will have to sit this one out.
