Classic rock fans in Morris County can catch a free afternoon concert this fall without buying a ticket. Briz, the New Jersey singer and guitarist behind the Voices of Rock show, performs at the Florham Park Public Library on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to all.
The format is simple: one performer, an acoustic guitar, a harmonica, and a lot of voices. Briz plays classic rock covers while doing vocal impressions of the artists who made them famous, including Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, and Bob Dylan. His own promotional material for the show also lists David Bowie, James Taylor, Elton John, and the Beatles, so expect the set to wander across the whole classic rock catalog.
Briz is based in Stanhope, just over the line in Sussex County, and he performs across several projects. Besides Voices of Rock, he plays original music under his own name and fronts two Neil Young tributes: Shakey, a solo acoustic show, and Gold Rush, a full tribute band. In an interview with Union News Daily, he said he learned to mimic singers as a kid, when family members would pay him in pennies and nickels to do his impressions.
The concert is part of the library’s Second Sundays series, a free program held at 2:00 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month from September through April. The season opened September 13 with a Jim Croce tribute, and the next program, the History and Music of Hamilton, is set for Sunday, November 8.
