Elite Martial Arts is bringing its free Trunk-or-Treat back to three of its Morris County area dojos this Halloween season, with events in Rockaway and Whippany on Saturday, October 24, 2026, and in Jefferson Township on Friday, October 30, 2026. All three are free and open to local families, including kids who are not Elite students, but every child must be pre-registered.
This is not the usual walk from car to car with a pillowcase. Every trunk is interactive, so kids play a game, take on a small challenge, or explore a themed setup at each stop before collecting their treats. Elite says it has hosted these Trunk-or-Treats for nearly a decade, and they usually sell out. Every child leaves with a goody bag, there are prizes, and costumes are encouraged. Plan on about 30 minutes from start to finish, and bring a candy bucket, a costume, and your registration ticket.
Rockaway: Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 3 to 5 PM at Elite Martial Arts Rockaway, 295 Route 46, Rockaway. The event is capped at 200 children, with more than 500 pounds of treats. Free parking is in the front lot. Register for the Rockaway Trunk-or-Treat here.
Whippany: Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 3 to 5 PM at Elite Martial Arts Hanover, 565 Route 10, Whippany. This is the smallest of the three, limited to 80 children, also with more than 500 pounds of treats. Park to the right of the building; the trunks are set up in the back. Register for the Whippany Trunk-or-Treat here.
Jefferson Township: Friday, October 30, 2026, from 5 to 7 PM at Elite Martial Arts Jefferson, 694 Route 15, Lake Hopatcong. Space is limited to 100 children, and free parking is in the front lot. Register for the Jefferson Trunk-or-Treat here.
Parents need to register each child who will be participating, and with spots this limited, it is worth doing early. If your family is already in Rockaway or Whippany on the 24th, the 3 PM start leaves plenty of evening left for other plans, and the Friday night Jefferson event lands the night before Halloween itself.
