The Spring Forward 5K & 10K is back at Central Park of Morris County in Morris Plains on Sunday, April 19, 2026, with a 9:30 a.m. start time.
Runners can choose between the 5K or the 10K, with the 10K covering two loops of the 5K course through the park’s cross-country trail. Both distances cover mixed terrain with grass, pressed gravel, dirt, and some hills.
The event benefits the Morris County Park Alliance, and the 2026 proceeds go toward the Tree Treasury fund to help restore forested areas in Morris County parks following losses from the Emerald Ash Borer and Beech Tree nematode. The Morris County Park Alliance does great work for the county, and this is a fun way to support them.
Registered participants receive a finisher medal. Race shirts are available while supplies last. Awards go to the top three male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K, with age group awards as well.
Registration for the 5K closes April 12. The race is open to runners of all abilities, families, and friends. Dogs are welcome on a leash following park rules.
