Morris County’s holiday stage season is set, and it starts the week before Thanksgiving. Between mid November and Christmas, Morristown, Madison, Chatham and Morris Plains have a Peanuts stage show, Mannheim Steamroller, a Chevy Chase night, Darlene Love, two Nutcrackers, a new holiday musical and a family Christmas Carol. November 2026
A Drag Queen Christmas, Wednesday, November 18
Murray & Peter’s touring holiday drag show stops at the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC), 100 South Street, Morristown, at 7:30 p.m. It is 18 and over. Tickets at MPAC.
A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage, Friday, November 27
The day after Thanksgiving, the Peanuts gang brings the classic special to the MPAC stage at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets run $35 to $79, with meet and greet packages available. Tickets at MPAC.
Mannheim Steamroller Christmas, Saturday, November 28
Chip Davis’s Mannheim Steamroller Christmas plays MPAC at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets run $67 to $124. Tickets at MPAC.
A Live Conversation With Chevy Chase, Sunday, November 29
MPAC screens National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation at 7 p.m., followed by a live conversation and Q&A with Chevy Chase and his wife, Jayni. Tickets run $45 to $280, and the top tier includes a meet and greet. Tickets at MPAC.
December 2026
A Christmas Carol, Chatham Players, December 3 to 20
The Chatham Players’ family friendly musical version of Dickens, with Dickens himself walking Scrooge through the story, has been staged exclusively at the Chatham Playhouse since 1988. The 2026 run is Thursday, December 3 through Sunday, December 20 at 23 N. Passaic Avenue, Chatham. Showtimes and prices go up on the Chatham Players site, or call (973) 635-7363.
Darlene Love: Love for the Holidays, Friday, December 4
The voice of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” plays MPAC at 8 p.m. Tickets run $45 to $101. Tickets at MPAC.
The Gifts of the Magi, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, December 5 to 27
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s 2026 holiday show is The Gifts of the Magi, a musical built from two O. Henry stories, with book by Mark St. Germain and music by Randy Courts. It plays the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Avenue, Madison, from a Pay What You CAN preview on Saturday, December 5 through Sunday, December 27, with opening night on Friday, December 11. Tickets run $55 to $95, and there is a sensory friendly performance on Wednesday, December 23 at 2 p.m. Tickets at STNJ.
The Nutcracker, New Jersey Ballet at MPAC, December 11 to 27
New Jersey Ballet and the New Jersey Symphony return to MPAC for 15 performances, with tickets from $45 to $101. Every show date is in our Nutcracker guide.
Morris Choral Society, December 11 and 13
The Morris Choral Society’s holiday concert, Home for the Holidays Goes to the Movies, sings Friday, December 11 at 7 p.m. at Assumption Church in Morristown and Sunday, December 13 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 131 Mountain Way, Morris Plains.
Water Gap Jazz Orchestra: Nutcracker and Grinch Suites, Saturday, December 19
A 17 piece big band plays Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite and its own Grinch Suite at 2 p.m. at the Bickford Theatre inside the Morris Museum, 6 Normandy Heights Road, Morristown. Tickets are $38, or $33 for members. Tickets at the Morris Museum.
