Three Dog Night, the band behind “Joy to the World,” “Black and White,” “Shambala” and “One,” is headed to Morristown. The band plays the Mayo Performing Arts Center, 100 South Street, on Friday, November 20, 2026, at 8 PM.

MPAC notes the band charted more Top 10 hits than any other act from 1969 to 1974. Now in its sixth decade, Three Dog Night still plays more than 80 shows a year, and this Friday night stop is a great way to kick off a weekend.

Three Dog Night at MPAC: The Details

A Look Back at Three Dog Night

Danny Hutton founded the band in 1968 around three lead vocalists who blended in tight harmony. The results were 21 consecutive Billboard Top 40 hits, three No. 1 singles and 12 straight gold albums, plus performances at two Super Bowls. The name comes from the tale of outback hunters who sleep beside their dogs on the coldest nights. Learn more on the band’s official website.

What to Expect From the Show

Expect the big ones, from “Mama Told Me (Not to Come)” and “Easy to Be Hard” to “An Old Fashioned Love Song” and “Never Been to Spain.” MPAC also says the band is releasing Enter, its first studio album in nearly 40 years, so a new song or two could make the set.
