About the U.S. Army Field Band
The U.S. Army Field Band is the official touring musical representative of the U.S. Army. The Concert Band was founded in 1946 and the Soldiers’ Chorus in 1957, and together they have performed in all 50 states and 30 foreign countries.
The 60 member Concert Band and 29 member Soldiers’ Chorus play famous concert halls and small town auditoriums alike, and have shared the stage with the Boston Pops and the National Symphony Orchestra. Members also represent the Army at events like the Presidential Inaugural Parade. Learn more on the band’s official website.
What to Expect at the Concert
MPAC says the joint program can range from orchestral masterworks and operatic arias to Sousa marches, jazz classics and Broadway musicals. On Veterans Day, it is a fitting way for our community to say thank you to those who served.
Make a Night of It in Downtown Morristown
MPAC is a short walk from the Morristown Green, so a 7 PM concert leaves time for dinner first. Our guide to the best restaurants in Morristown has options within walking distance, and the Starlight Lounge will be closed that night, so plan to eat before the show.
