Ori’s opened on Chatham’s Main Street in August 2026 and quickly became the steak shop people talk about. The menu is short and focused: a Traditional steak with Whiz or Cooper Sharp, plus house versions that bring the heat, like Ori’s own with hot cherry and habanero peppers and spicy garlic mayo. This downtown Denville deli has a loyal cheesesteak crowd. The one to try is the Irish Cheesesteak, shaved steak cooked in Guinness, and the Blue Angel piles on peppers, onions, mushrooms, hot peppers, American and provolone. 4. PrimoHoagies, Rockaway

PrimoHoagies started in South Philadelphia, and the Rockaway shop brings that formula to Morris County: steaks on seeded Italian bread with Thumann’s meats on the deli side. It is part of a regional chain, but it is one of the closest tastes of a Philly sandwich shop you will find around here, and it sits just off Route 80. 5. Dover Grill, Dover

Dover Grill is a roadside classic on Route 46 that has long billed its Philly cheesesteak as famous, alongside Texas weiners and burgers. Bring cash, since it is cash only. How to Order Like a Regular
- Know your cheese. Whiz, American and provolone are the classics. Cooper Sharp, a sharp American that started in Pennsylvania, is a favorite at Ori’s.
- “Wit” or “witout.” In Philly, “wit” means with fried onions. Most Morris County shops just ask, but the shorthand still gets a smile.
