Morris County’s Korean food runs on a few square miles of Parsippany, where Route 46 and the streets around it have quietly become the county’s Korean dining hub, with more good options in Morris Plains, East Hanover, and Denville. Whether you want a tabletop barbecue night, a bubbling stone bowl of tofu stew, or a paper cup of Korean fried chicken, here is where we send people.

Keo Ku Restaurant, Parsippany

Keo Ku has been Parsippany’s anchor for Korean barbecue since the 1990s, and it is still the first name most locals give you. The draw is the grill built into the table, where you cook marinated galbi and bulgogi to order, but the kitchen also turns out a full lineup of stews, noodles, and banchan. You will find it at 245 US-46, and it is closed on Mondays. Take a look at the Keo Ku menu before you go.

Woodam Korean BBQ, Morris Plains

Woodam brought a modern Korean barbecue room to downtown Morris Plains, and it has built a serious following. Expect quality cuts for the grill, generous banchan, and a room that fills up on weekends, so a reservation is smart. It sits at 650 Speedwell Avenue. See the current menu on the Woodam website.

SGD So Gong Dong Tofu and Korean BBQ, East Hanover

This is the spot for soondubu, the spicy soft-tofu stew that arrives still bubbling in a stone bowl with a raw egg to stir in at the table. SGD does a strong version along with Korean barbecue and the usual sides, and it is an easy stop on Route 10 at 240 NJ-10 in East Hanover. Check the SGD menu and hours first.

K-afeteria, Denville

For something faster and more casual, K-afeteria brings Korean street food to downtown Denville. The menu leans on cupbop, the build-your-own rice bowls layered with meat, vegetables, and sauces, plus Korean-style fried chicken wings. It is a solid lunch or grab-and-go stop at 35 East Main Street, right in the middle of Denville’s Broadway shopping district.

Bonchon, Parsippany

Bonchon built its name on Korean fried chicken with a thin, glassy crust and a double fry, brushed with either soy garlic or a spicy sauce. The Parsippany location at 57 New Road is a reliable stop for wings and drumsticks, plus Korean staples like japchae and bibimbap. Order ahead from Bonchon Parsippany.
