Send me the listParsippany is officially getting its first Burtons Grill & Bar, and the opening is closer than most people expected.
The restaurant group announced this week that its Parsippany location will open in October at District 15Fifteen, the mixed use development taking shape on Route 10. It is the first Burtons Grill & Bar anywhere in New Jersey, and the company says it is already hunting for more sites around the state.
What Burtons Grill & Bar is known for
Burtons runs an all day menu built on scratch cooking, which means the sauces, dressings, and sides are made in house rather than pulled out of a bag. The range is wide on purpose: shareable starters and big salads on one end, fresh seafood, prime steaks, and American entrees on the other.
A few dishes carry the brand. The Crab-Crusted Haddock comes with a crab cake, lemon butter sauce, herbed jasmine rice, and a seasonal vegetable. The Maxx Burger is Allen Brothers angus beef with American cheese, onion strings, and special sauce on a brioche bun. There is a lobster roll served either warm with seasoned butter or chilled with lettuce and aioli, a Mediterranean chicken risotto, and a Superfood Salad with quinoa, avocado, feta, and lemon vinaigrette. Dessert is the Seven-Layer Chocolate Cake, which is gluten free and has a following of its own.
The drink program covers wine, craft beer, cocktails, and a real mocktail list rather than an afterthought.
The allergy friendly piece is the real story
Burtons has spent years building its reputation on serving guests with food allergies and dietary restrictions safely. The kitchen will customize nearly any dish on the menu, and the gluten free menu is unusually deep for a restaurant this size. If you are one of the many Morris County families who calls ahead before every dinner out, that is the detail worth circling.
Inside the Parsippany restaurant
The Parsippany location runs 7,400 square feet with seating for 243 guests. The design leans modern but warm, with Audubon inspired murals and heavy use of greenery, and it is anchored by a 30 seat bar.
There is a private dining room with AV built in that seats up to 46, which fills a real gap in Parsippany for business meetings, showers, and family celebrations. Outside, a 64 seat patio comes with ceiling fans, overhead heaters, lounge seating, and lighting, so it should stay usable well past summer.
The restaurant is expected to bring roughly 125 jobs to the area.
Bringing Burtons Grill & Bar to New Jersey is a milestone moment for our team, and there is no better fit for this debut than at District 15Fifteen in Parsippany. The energy and sense of community is tailor-made for what Burtons offers.
