SubscribeFootball season is back, and Morris County has no shortage of places to post up for a full slate of games. Whether you want a packed Irish pub for Sunday kickoff, a wall of big screens over a plate of wings, or a laid-back spot to watch your team with a cold local beer, these are the sports bars worth knowing across the county.
Grasshopper Off the Green, Morristown
Just off the Green at 41 Morris Street, Grasshopper Off the Green is a downtown Morristown institution and a go-to on game day. The two-floor Irish pub is known for its packed football Sundays, with the downstairs bar turning into a fan headquarters and a menu built for sharing.
The Office Tavern Grill, Morristown
Also in the heart of Morristown at 3 South Street, The Office Tavern Grill pairs elevated pub food with around 40 rotating taps. The multi-level space and long bar make it an easy pick when you want the game on with a better-than-average beer list.
Thatcher McGhee’s, Denville
On Broadway in downtown Denville, Thatcher McGhee’s is a classic Irish sports bar with plenty of screens, a deep beer selection, and a lively crowd on game nights. It is an easy walk from the rest of Denville’s restaurants and shops if you want to make a night of it.
Mr. Crabby’s Seafood House and Sports Bar, Randolph
At 399 Route 10 in Randolph, Mr. Crabby’s puts more than 20 TVs alongside a full seafood menu, so you can work through a raw bar and crab boils while you watch. It is one of the newer additions to the county’s sports bar scene and a favorite for big games and fights.
Miller’s Ale House, Rockaway
Right at Rockaway Townsquare on Mount Pleasant Avenue, Miller’s Ale House is built for sports, with 60-plus TVs, a big menu, and a wide-open bar and patio. There is a second Morris County location off Route 10 in Parsippany if that is closer to home.
Sharky’s Wings and Raw Bar, Boonton
Tucked on Boonton Avenue, Sharky’s Wings and Raw Bar has built a statewide reputation for its wings, its raw bar, and its long beer list, and it has been named among New Jersey’s best sports bars. It is a smaller, local spot that fills up fast on game day.
