Morris County’s St. Patrick’s season gets an early morning start on Saturday, March 13, 2027, when the St. Paddy’s Day 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run takes off from Ginty Field in Morris Township. The GPS address is 49 Woodland Avenue, Morristown. The 1 mile fun run starts at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K follows at 10 a.m.

The race lands on the same day as the Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Morristown, so you can run in the morning and still make it downtown for the parade festivities.

Registration is open on RunSignup. The 5K costs $29.99, the USATF member 5K costs $24.99 and the 1 mile fun run costs $24. Online registration closes on March 12, 2027, at 5 p.m. for the 5K and 11 a.m. for the mile.

The 5K course includes one hill before the two mile mark, so save a little energy for it. The first 500 registrants get exclusive winter hats, and every mile and 5K finisher receives a finisher medal. Top overall winners take home Altra running shoes, special prizes go to the best costumes, and pizza from the Columbia Inn food truck is waiting after the finish.

Operation Smile will also have a tent at the race, and organizers say the first 150 runners to visit the Operation Smile tent get Dunkin Donuts, so it pays to stop by early.

Packets can be picked up at Fleet Feet of Morristown on the Friday before the race, and on race morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Ginty Field. Parking is on Woodland Avenue, at the municipal building at 50 Woodland Avenue, at Ginty Pool and at Woodland School. Full details are on the official St. Paddy’s Day 5K page.

Looking for a longer race from the same start line? The Superhero Half Marathon in Morristown follows on Sunday, May 2, 2027.
