Capes are encouraged. The Superhero Half Marathon and Relay returns to Ginty Field, 49 Woodland Avenue, Morristown, on Sunday, May 2, 2027, with an 8:30 a.m. start. Registration is already open, and current prices hold through December 29, 2026.
Runners can take on the full 13.1 mile half marathon or split it in a 2 person relay, with each runner covering about 6.55 miles. The course time limit is three hours, and the organizer says it will be strictly enforced, so make sure your training plan gets you under that mark.
Current prices on RunSignup are $70 for the half marathon, $80 for a relay team and $65 for USATF members. Prices for the half and the relay go up after 11:59 p.m. on December 29, 2026, and the USATF price goes up after 11:59 p.m. on December 30, 2026, which makes the race an easy holiday gift for the runner in your house.
The swag is a big part of the draw. The first 1,000 registrants get a tech tank top, and every half marathon and relay finisher receives a large finisher medal, with the 2027 superhero design already posted on the official Superhero Half Marathon page. Prizes go to the top three overall runners and the top three in each 5 year age group, and special prizes go to the best costumes.
Packet pickup is Saturday, May 1, 2027, from noon to 5 p.m. at Fleet Feet of Morristown, and again on race morning from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. at Ginty Field. Parking is available at Ginty Pool, the municipal lot at 50 Woodland Avenue, Woodland School and the residential streets around the field. Finishers can refuel with bananas, granola bars, water, pizza and soft pretzels, and post run massages are on site.
