The Great Big Book Swap After Dark returns to the Dover Sportsplex on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and the whole idea rests on one detail: the house lights stay low. Organizers ask people to bring a flashlight, a book light or a lantern and hunt for their next read in the dark.
How It Works
Bring books you are finished with, take books you want. Around the swap there are vendors, music and mocktails, so it runs closer to a night out than a library event. It is indoors, all ages, and about three hours end to end.
If you would rather not dig through a bag for a phone light all night, there is an optional Swap Flashlight add-on for $5, available in limited quantities.
Tickets, Parking and Location
Admission is $5 at the door, or you can prepay online with a service fee. Parking at the venue is free. The Sportsplex is at 111 Bassett Highway, Dover, NJ 07801.
The event is run by Two Girls Media, the Denville-based team behind a long list of Morris County events. This is the After Dark edition of a series that also runs daytime swaps, so if October 10 does not work, the format comes back around.
