Morris Plains will close out June with one of its biggest nights of the year. The borough’s annual Family Day and Fireworks celebration returns to Morris Plains Community Park at 51 Jim Fear Drive on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with festivities starting at 5 PM and fireworks beginning at approximately 9:30 PM. The rain date is Sunday, June 28.
Sponsored by the Morris Plains Recreation Commission, Family Day fills the park with activities for all ages leading up to the fireworks finale, including a rock climbing wall, bounce houses, and face painting.
This year’s celebration carries extra meaning. Morris Plains is marking its centennial in 2026, celebrating 100 years since the borough was established in 1926, and the official event flyer features the borough’s 100 Years centennial logo with its motto, The Community of Caring.
Fireworks night draws a crowd, so plan to arrive early and bring chairs or a blanket for the show.
Mark the calendar for Saturday, June 27, and keep Sunday, June 28 open just in case the weather has other plans.
