Boonton’s biggest street party is back for the fall. Boonton Day returns to Historic Main Street on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m., when the downtown closes to traffic and fills with vendors, food, live entertainment, and local businesses. Presented by Boonton Parks and Recreation, it is a free, family-friendly afternoon and one of the town’s signature community events.
What to expect
For four hours, Main Street becomes a walkable open-air market. Vendors and makers line the street, local businesses and community organizations set up to meet neighbors, and food vendors serve lunch and snacks along the way. There is entertainment throughout the afternoon, and the car-free street makes it easy to browse, sample, and run into people you know. It is a low-key, all-ages event built around Boonton’s historic downtown.
Date, time, and admission
Boonton Day runs Sunday, September 27, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m. on Main Street in Boonton. Admission is free. If the weather does not cooperate, the event is cancelled rather than moved to a rain date, so keep an eye on the forecast that morning.
Getting there and parking
Main Street is closed to through traffic for the event, so plan to park and walk in. There is no parking on Main Street itself, but the public lots at Plane Street, Boonton Avenue, and Cornelia Street are within an easy walk, along with the side streets off Main.
Make a day of it
Historic Boonton is worth lingering in on its own, with a hilly, walkable Main Street full of independent shops, antique dealers, and restaurants set above the waterfall at Grace Lord Park. Boonton Day is an easy way to see the downtown at its liveliest.
