The Denville Community Church will hold its 18th Annual Auction on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 190 Diamond Spring Road in Denville. Admission is free, parking is plentiful, and the building is handicapped accessible.

This is a silent auction, and bidding opens the moment the doors do at 1 p.m. Guests take a bidder number at the door, walk the two rooms, and write that number and their offer on the bid sheet next to any item they want. If someone outbids you, you go back and write a higher number. Whoever is last on the sheet when time is called takes the item home. Pens are provided. Last bids are taken at 3:40 p.m. in Room 1 and at 4 p.m. in Room 2.

Organizers say more than 450 gifts will be spread across the two rooms, all of them new. The lineup runs from family outings and outdoor adventures to restaurant certificates, wine tastings, play tickets, vacations and staycations, and tickets to museums, shows, and clubs. There are also wrapped gift baskets ready to hand over as-is, overflowing children’s baskets, fall baskets, hostess gifts, and a run of Christmas baskets for anyone who wants a head start on holiday shopping.

Payment is due when you pick up your basket or gift certificate at the end of the afternoon. The church accepts cash, check, and credit card. Hot food and drinks will be sold on site, so you can spend the full three hours there without needing to leave for lunch.

One hundred percent of the proceeds fund the church’s community outreach services, with food insecurity as the current focus. The Denville Community Church is a United Methodist congregation that goes by “The Church of the Open Door,” and it thanks the participating businesses and first-time donors who stocked this year’s rooms. More on the congregation is at denvillecommunitychurch.org, and the church posts auction updates to its Facebook page as donors are announced. Questions can go to the church office at 973-627-1041.
