Orangetheory Fitness Rockaway is opening its doors to the wider community on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with a morning built around fitness, health, wellness, and local connection.
The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the studio at 395 Mount Hope Avenue in Rockaway Township. Organizers are planning local vendors, wellness activities, fitness demonstrations, giveaways, and a ribbon cutting ceremony, with time set aside for residents to meet the health and wellness professionals and community organizations taking part.
The morning also marks a change at the top. Phil DeCarlo-Schnepper and his business partner Jim recently became the new owners of the Rockaway studio, and they are using the event to introduce themselves and open the space to people who have never taken a class there. Members, staff, local businesses, and community partners are all invited.
Orangetheory built its model on heart rate based interval training. Every class is coach-led and combines cardio, rowing, and strength training in one structured session, with a wearable monitor tracking each person’s effort on screens around the room. Coaches guide the whole group through the workout, and the format is built to work for a range of fitness levels rather than a single one.
The studio sits on the Mount Hope Avenue retail corridor in Rockaway Township and can be reached at 973-315-5155. Class schedules, membership options, and directions are listed on the studio’s page on the Orangetheory website.
The event lands in an already busy stretch of the fall calendar for Rockaway Township. The township is holding its first town-wide yard sale on Saturday, September 19, and Germania Park’s annual Oktoberfest takes over 56 Conger Street that same weekend, September 19 and 20.
The vendor lineup and the exact time of the ribbon cutting are still being finalized. Anyone who wants to attend, or any local business or wellness professional interested in taking part, can contact the studio directly.
