Dover is one of the more interesting places to eat in Morris County and one of the least written about. The downtown around Blackwell Street and North Morris Street holds a genuine Latin American food scene alongside long running local rooms, and a lot of it never shows up on the big review sites in any useful order.
Here is where to start.
Sabor Latino
44 North Morris Street, Dover. Family owned Colombian, and the anchor of the downtown Latin scene. This is the one to send someone to first if they have never eaten their way through Dover.
ONE11 Bar and Kitchen
111 East Blackwell Street, Dover. Cocktail forward with a kitchen that holds its own, and the most current feeling room downtown. Good for a night out that does not involve driving to Morristown.
Charlotte’s Web
Dover. A long standing local room that regulars are quietly protective of. Comfortable, unfussy and reliably busy.

42 North Sussex Street, Dover. Right in the middle of the downtown grid, and an easy walk from the rest of this list if you are making an evening of it.
Why Dover is worth the trip
The short version: you can eat Colombian, Peruvian and Mexican food within a few blocks, at prices that have not caught up to the rest of the county, in a downtown you can actually park in and walk. For anyone who has only driven through Dover on the way somewhere else, that combination is the surprise.
One update, because the listings are behind
The Quiet Man Irish Pub, a Dover fixture for 47 years, served its final day on Saturday, August 29, 2026. It still appears on several national restaurant sites as though it were open. We covered the closing and the family’s farewell when it happened.
Planning a night here
- Park once and walk. The downtown is compact, which is the whole appeal.
- Weekends are the good version. The downtown has more going on Friday and Saturday evenings.
- Call ahead on the smaller rooms. Several of these are genuinely small, and they fill.
