An escape room is one of the best ways to spend a rainy afternoon or a night out in Morris County, and you do not have to leave the area to find a good one. From downtown Madison to the malls and main roads in Rockaway, Parsippany, and Wharton, here are the escape rooms worth booking, whether you are planning a date night, a birthday, a team outing, or a family game day.
Rooms tend to fit groups of two to eight, and most fill up fast on weekend nights, so book online ahead of time and get there a few minutes early for the safety briefing.
Escape Room NJ, Madison
Tucked just off Main Street at 19 Waverly Place, Escape Room NJ runs a rotating set of themed rooms and keeps long hours into the late evening, which makes it a good option for a night out that starts after dinner. It is walkable from the shops and restaurants in downtown Madison.
All In Adventures, Rockaway
Inside Rockaway Townsquare at 301 Mount Hope Avenue, All In Adventures is a national chain location with several themed escape rooms plus other group games, all under one roof. The mall setting makes it convenient for a rainy day, with plenty of parking and food nearby.
Escaping Reality, Parsippany
At 313 Route 46 in Parsippany, Escaping Reality puts a virtual reality spin on the format, dropping your team into fully digital worlds instead of a physical set. It is a good change of pace if you have already worked your way through the traditional rooms in the area.
13th Hour Escape Rooms, Wharton
From the team behind the well-known 13th Hour haunted attraction, 13th Hour Escape Rooms at 105 West Dewey Avenue in Wharton bring a horror twist to the genre, and unlike the seasonal haunt, the escape rooms run all year. Expect atmosphere, jump scares, and puzzles built for fans of the spooky side.
