The best chocolate and candy shops in Morris County are small, local and worth the drive: a Morristown chocolatier that has been dipping since 1983, a Denville sweet shop on Broadway, a Morristown shop famous for chocolate-covered pretzels, and a Chester candy barn stocked with hundreds of old-school favorites. Here is where our team goes for holiday gift boxes, hostess gifts and the occasional truffle for no reason at all.
Every shop below was confirmed open and selling in 2026. Hours shift around the holidays, so check before you go.
1. Enjou Chocolat, Morristown
Enjou Chocolat has been a Morristown fixture since Wendy Taffet opened it in 1983, and it still feels like the place to go when a gift has to look as good as it tastes. Start with the Signature Collection or a truffle box, then grab nonpareils or chocolate-covered pretzels for the car ride home. Fall brings chocolate caramel apples, and the chocolate high-heel shoes are a classic gift. There is also a 72% dairy-free bar and a Dubai-style pistachio bar.
Address: 8 DeHart Street, Morristown. Hours: Monday to Friday 10 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM, closed Sunday.
2. Sweet Expressions by Geri, Denville
Right on Broadway in downtown Denville, Sweet Expressions by Geri does a little bit of everything sweet. The chocolate case is the draw: signature truffle boxes, almond butter crunch and chocolate-dipped strawberries, plus drizzled popcorn, retro candy, and sugar-free and allergy-friendly chocolate. The shop also runs the Foodies Cooking School on site.
Address: 26 Broadway, Denville. Hours: Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Saturday 9:30 AM to 5 PM, Thursday 9:30 AM to 8 PM, Sunday 11 AM to 4 PM.
3. Mindy’s Munchies, Morristown
Mindy’s Munchies on Schuyler Place makes its chocolates in the store, and the hand-dipped chocolate-covered pretzels are what people come back for. Mindy Mosca started the business in her home kitchen more than 20 years ago. Try the Jersey Junk bark, the chocolate-covered marshmallows, fudge or a platter of chocolate-covered strawberries. You can browse the lineup on the Mindy’s Munchies shop page.
Address: 22 Schuyler Place, Morristown. Hours: Tuesday to Friday 11 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM, closed Sunday and Monday.
4. Black River Candy Shoppe, Chester
Black River Candy Shoppe is the candy store you remember from being a kid, only bigger. More than 900 bulk and nostalgic candies fill old oak whiskey barrels, along with Pennsylvania Dutch candy and harder-to-find bars like the Reggie Bar. It also builds candy buffets for parties and events. Look for the red pole barn building at the back of the parking lot on Main Street. Details are on the shop’s store and hours page.
Address: 44 Main Street, Chester. Hours: Tuesday to Friday 10 AM to 5 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 5:30 PM, Sunday 11 AM to 5:30 PM, closed Monday.
