1. Interfaith Food Pantry Network (Morris Plains)

The Interfaith Food Pantry Network started in 1994 with volunteers from four houses of worship and is now the largest resource for emergency and supplemental food in Morris County. In 2025 it distributed more than 2.4 million pounds of food, including over a million pounds of produce, to 42,197 households from its home at 2 Executive Drive in Morris Plains. Volunteers sort and distribute on weeknights and Saturdays, and food drop-off runs Monday through Thursday, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
2. Homeless Solutions (Morristown)

Homeless Solutions has offered A Hand UP, not a HandOUT, to Morris County neighbors since 1983. The 501(c)(3) runs a shelter in Morristown, a Winter Warming Center and transitional apartments, and in 2025 it sheltered 227 people and served 47,469 meals. Volunteers cook and serve dinner every night of the year, and its 7th annual A Night in the Cold returns Friday, December 4, 2026.
3. Community Hope (Parsippany)

Community Hope has been a beacon of hope in the community since 1985, connecting people and families with support, services and housing from its office at 959 Route 46 East in Parsippany. Its Hope for Veterans program has helped more than 6,000 veterans and their families find a home, and its residential recovery programs help people live their best lives. The 30th Sparkle of Hope Gala is Wednesday, November 11, 2026, and volunteers help with drives and holiday dinners.
4. Wise Animal Rescue (Lake Hiawatha)

Wise Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based 501(c)(3) in Lake Hiawatha that rescues dogs from unsafe homes, abandonment and surrender. Every animal is spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and lives in a foster home before adoption, and its Lola’s Legacy program cares for senior dogs. You can adopt, foster, drive dogs to vet visits, handle dogs at adoption events or shop its wish list.
5. Halos For Angels (Florham Park)

Halos For Angels was founded in 2010 by Karen M. Casolaro to give local families relief when a sudden tragedy hits, with meals, rides, shopping trips, child care and emotional support. The Florham Park nonprofit now has a Junior Board of local teens running their own fundraisers. Its 5K Fun Run is Saturday, November 14, at Hanover Park High School, and supporters can volunteer, donate or nominate a family in need.
6. The Rose House (Morris Plains)
The Rose House was founded in 1999 by Mark and Pearl Kramer for their daughter Abby, with a mission to create forever homes for adults with special needs. The Morris Plains 501(c)(3) runs six residential programs and eight independent living apartments in Morris County with 24/7 support, and it is building a new home of single-occupancy apartments. Support it at a dine-to-donate night on Wednesday, November 18, at Redwoods Grill & Bar in Chester, where 10% of sales go to Rose House.
7. Interfaith Furnishings (Randolph)

Interfaith Furnishings has collected donated furniture and delivered it to neighbors in need across 21 Morris County towns since 2004, helping more than 1,700 families. The all-volunteer 501(c)(3), based in Randolph, works through social worker referrals and partners with local churches and mosques. It is searching for a new warehouse in Morris County, so financial donations and volunteers are the best ways to help right now.
8. Platinum Minds (Chester)
Platinum Minds helps academically motivated boys reach their full potential and grow into leaders in their communities. Its programs include the Arete Leadership Program for grades 6 through 12, the Frederick Douglass Reading Initiative for grades 1 through 5 and scholarship and mentoring support, all free to families. The Chester-based nonprofit has sponsored more than 400 boys, with a 100% high school graduation rate, and welcomes mentors, speakers and $10 a month donors.
9. EDGE New Jersey (Parsippany)
EDGE New Jersey began in 1992 as the AIDS Residence Coalition of Morris County and today advances healthy and authentic living for people living with HIV and the LGBTQ+ community. From 35 Waterview Boulevard in Parsippany, the 501(c)(3) offers free HIV testing, care management, housing support, counseling and a community center with a cafe and lending library. It serves more than 1,880 members a year and welcomes volunteers at events and the center.
10. Mental Health Association (Parsippany)
The Mental Health Association has promoted mental health and total wellness since 1950, and its Morris office is at 1160 Parsippany Boulevard. It runs The Gathering Place, a peer-led wellness center in Parsippany, school support through NJ4S, in-home therapy for seniors and Veteran and Family Support Services in Morristown, and no one is turned away. As MHA puts it, mental illness is real, treatment is available and recovery is possible. If you or someone you love is in crisis, call or text 988.
