County College of Morris is opening its Randolph campus to the public for a free AI and Data Science Night on Thursday, November 19, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m., with check-in starting at 5:30 p.m. Called Data Under the Stars, the evening is built for students ages 15 and up, adult learners and working professionals who want a hands-on look at artificial intelligence and data science, and no prior experience is needed.
Admission is free, but advance registration is required through the college’s AI and Data Science Night registration page.
Hands-On Workshops Led by CCM Faculty and Industry Pros
The heart of the night is a run of short, interactive workshops led by CCM faculty and industry professionals. Guests choose from sessions on natural language processing, machine learning and prediction, data visualization with Tableau, statistical analysis and graphics in RStudio, Python programming, AI cybersecurity, vibe coding and agentic AI. One session even challenges you to try to trick an AI.
Data Under the Dome at the Longo Planetarium
Living up to its Data Under the Stars theme, the program includes a Data Under the Dome presentation inside CCM’s Longo Planetarium, one of the more unique spots on campus and a fun way to see data on a big screen overhead.
Careers, Credentials and a Student Panel
Beyond the workshops, the night doubles as a career fair for the field. Guests can hear from a panel of CCM students and alumni, network with faculty and industry partners, talk with four-year universities about transfer options, and learn about CCM’s AI and data science degrees, short-term credentials, industry certification exams, apprenticeships and internships. Representatives from the college’s Center for Workforce Development will also be on hand to talk about noncredit training.
The event is supported by a National Science Foundation grant that helped establish a Data Science Institute at CCM.
