Madison is known as the Rose City, but on Saturday, July 25, 2026, Chow Town Food Tours wants visitors to get to know it through its food. The company is hosting Eat Your Way Through History, a three-hour guided walking tour that pairs tastings from some of the borough’s most beloved eateries with stories about Madison’s role in the American Revolution.
The tour runs from 1 to 4 p.m. and is co-led with the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts, whose local experts will share historical insights along the route. As the country marks the 250th anniversary of American independence, guests will hear about the pivotal part Madison played in the Revolution and the military leaders who once stayed in town.
Walkers will cover roughly one to one and a half miles of easy, mostly flat terrain and stop at four to five spots. Tastings include classic Jersey-style pizza, artisanal and international cheeses, elevated sausages and Bavarian-inspired fare, authentic Italian home cooking, and handmade small-batch pastries, along with a wine tasting.
Tickets are $94.95 per person, and availability and booking are handled through the Madison tour page. The walk is the newest Morris County stop for Chow Town Food Tours, which has also run food and history tours in Denville and Morristown.
