The world’s biggest soccer match is coming to New Jersey, and Mount Olive Township is throwing a party so local fans can watch it together. On Sunday, July 19, the township turns Turkey Brook Park into a community watch party for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final, shown on a giant 16 by 9 foot screen. The event runs from 1 to 7 p.m. on the park’s Soccer Fields 5 and 7 in Budd Lake, with kickoff set for 3 p.m.

It is a rare hometown angle on a global event. This year’s final is being played about 40 miles away at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, the first time the New York and New Jersey area has hosted a World Cup Final. You may not have a ticket to the stadium, but you can still watch history unfold with your neighbors under the summer sky in Morris County.

A giant screen, food trucks, and a field full of fans

Mount Olive Recreation is setting up the big screen on the soccer fields at Turkey Brook Park, 30 Flanders Drakestown Road in Budd Lake. Gates open at 1 p.m., giving fans two hours to settle in before the 3 p.m. kickoff. Food trucks will be on site through the afternoon with a range of options, so you can grab lunch and a snack without leaving your spot.

The township is encouraging fans to bring lawn chairs and wear the colors of their favorite team. With the match not wrapping until the early evening, the park stays open until 7 p.m. to cover extra time, and possibly penalty kicks, if the final goes the distance.

What it costs and what to bring

Admission is 5 dollars per person for anyone 18 and older. Kids 17 and under get in free, which makes this an easy outing for families. A few ground rules are worth knowing before you go: no alcohol and no grilling are permitted in the park. Outside food is welcome, and coolers are allowed but will be checked at entry.

So pack your chairs, a cooler, and your team jersey. The rest, the screen, the atmosphere, and a field full of fellow soccer fans, is already handled.

A New Jersey moment worth showing up for

The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final kicks off at 3 p.m. ET on July 19 at MetLife Stadium, the climax of the first tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. For New Jersey, hosting the final is a genuine once-in-a-generation moment, and Mount Olive’s watch party gives Morris County a front-row seat to the celebration close to home.
