Downtown Dover is about to turn into an open-air gallery. Dover Art Week returns Sunday, July 26 through Saturday, August 1, 2026, a full week of free, family-friendly events that put local artists, musicians, and makers front and center across the town’s restaurants, storefronts, and public spaces.
Presented by Mayor James P. Dodd and the Town of Dover, the celebration spotlights visual, performing, and literary arts, with something happening in a different downtown spot almost every night. It has quietly become one of the most distinctive summer traditions in Morris County, and it is built to be walkable, welcoming, and completely free to attend.
A Different Venue Every Night
Rather than one stage in one park, Dover Art Week spreads across downtown. This year’s nightly events run through favorite local gathering spots, with evenings hosted at Meridia Transit Plaza, Las Brizas, MeatFlame, The Richards Building, Tequila 55, and Sabor Latino. Expect a rotating mix of pop-up galleries, live painting, music and dance, and hands-on art you can try yourself.
The week traditionally closes with a grand finale at the historic Richards Building in the heart of downtown, a night of live art, music, and vendors that has become the unofficial heartbeat of Dover’s growing creative scene.
Why Dover Art Week Is Worth the Trip
Dover has become one of the most creative small towns in the county, home to working studios, galleries, and an arts community as diverse as the town itself. Dover Art Week is the moment all of that comes out into the street, and it is a reminder that some of the best things to do in Morris County this summer cost nothing at all.
For the full night-by-night schedule, times, and any updates, visit the official Dover Art Week site or the Town of Dover events calendar.
