A brand new McDonald’s is officially coming to Route 10 in Randolph. The restaurant is planned for 765 Route 10, next to the CVS and across from the entrance to County College of Morris, and it will have a double drive-thru.

McDonald’s USA, LLC brought the project to the Randolph Township Planning Board, which took it up at its Monday, May 4, 2026 meeting as a preliminary and final site plan with soil, steep slope, tree and variance relief, according to the board’s May 4 agenda. The board then adopted a resolution on Monday, June 1, 2026 granting preliminary and final major site plan approval with a bulk variance and a design waiver.

The plans call for a new McDonald’s of about 3,694 square feet with a side-by-side, two-lane drive-thru, the kind that lets two lines of cars order at once. The dining room is planned with 36 seats.

There was one more step. Because the site needs more than 2,001 cubic yards of soil hauled away, the Randolph Township Council had to hold its own hearing. That happened on Thursday, July 23, 2026, and the council approved the soil movement permit 7 to 0, according to the council’s July 23 minutes.

The applicant’s engineer told the council the project will bring in about 4,187 cubic yards of soil and export about 2,188 cubic yards. The soil work is expected to take about six weeks and will happen while the retaining walls go up, with up to 20 truck trips a day during that stretch. Trucks will use the site’s existing driveway on Route 10, not the CVS driveway next door, and no township roads will be affected.

McDonald’s has not announced a construction start or an opening date yet. Route 10 is already one of the busiest food corridors in the county, and this stretch near the college sees a steady flow of students and commuters, so a double drive-thru is built for exactly that kind of traffic.
