Denville is about to get a new coffee shop, and the person behind it is just 19 years old.
Kaylee is getting ready to open Poppy’s Cafe at 383 E Main St, and every part of it is personal. She has worked in restaurants and cafés since she was 15. After her grandfather passed away earlier this year, she decided she was done waiting to chase the dream. So she named the café after him: Poppy’s.
What to Expect at Poppy’s Cafe
Coffee is the centerpiece. Poppy’s Cafe will serve specialty coffee drinks made with housemade syrups, so expect flavors you will not find at a chain.
The bakery case will rotate with homemade baked goods, including:
- Cinnamon rolls
- Pumpkin bread
- Banana bread
- Muffins
- Cookies
The look and feel is a big part of the plan too. Kaylee is going for a cozy, nostalgic early 2000s vibe, the kind of spot where you settle in with a latte instead of grabbing it and running.
Outdoor Seating Coming in the Spring
Poppy’s Cafe is also planning a large outdoor seating area for this coming spring, which should make it one of the more inviting places on East Main Street to sit outside once the weather turns.
Where Poppy’s Cafe Is Located
Poppy’s Cafe will be at 383 E Main St, Denville, NJ 07834. An opening date has not been announced yet. We will share it as soon as it is official. In the meantime, check out our guides to the best coffee shops in Morris County and the best restaurants in Denville.
Why This One Matters
Opening a café is hard at any age. Doing it at 19, while honoring someone you lost, takes real heart. Morris County has a way of showing up for its small businesses, and Poppy’s Cafe is a great place to start.
