Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown has two Halloween nights on its October 2026 calendar: Ghostbusters in Concert on Sunday, October 18 at 7 pm, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show with a live shadowcast and costume contest on Saturday, October 31 at 7:30 pm. Both happen at MPAC, 100 South Street in downtown Morristown, and tickets are on sale now.
One is a full orchestra playing a classic film score live, the other is the rowdiest movie night of the year. Here is what to know about each.
Ghostbusters in Concert: Sunday, October 18, 2026
The 1984 original plays on a large HD cinema screen while an orchestra performs Elmer Bernstein’s score live on stage, synced to the film. If you grew up quoting this movie, hearing that score fill the theater is the whole point. It is a good pick for families with kids old enough for the original PG rating, and an easy Sunday night out for everyone else.
- When: Sunday, October 18, 2026, 7 pm
- Where: Mayo Performing Arts Center, 100 South Street, Morristown

The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Saturday, October 31, 2026
MPAC is spending Halloween night itself on Rocky Horror. The film runs on the big screen with the Cosmic Light Cabaret shadowcast performing in front of it, so you get a movie and a live show at once. Costumes are welcome and audience participation is expected, so come ready to do the Time Warp.
The night starts in the lobby at 7 pm, and the Halloween Costume Contest takes place at 7:30 pm before the screening. At $32 a ticket, it is also one of the most affordable nights on MPAC’s whole fall schedule.

- Where: Mayo Performing Arts Center, 100 South Street, Morristown

More on MPAC’s October Calendar
If you want a family show that is not scary at all, the Coco Live-to-Film Concert plays Saturday, October 24 at 3 pm, with the 20-member Orquesta Folclorica Nacional de Mexico performing Michael Giacchino’s score live alongside the Disney Pixar film. Tickets run $35 to $79, and with the film built around DÃa de los Muertos, it fits the season nicely.
The full lineup, including The Music Man national tour on October 16 and 17 and Wheel of Fortune LIVE! on October 13, is on MPAC’s October highlights page.
