Morris County’s craft beer map just picked up a new pin. The Rosecourt Brewery, a family owned taproom at 3 Central Avenue, opened its doors this summer and is now pouring a rotating lineup of hop forward ales, crisp lagers, and barrel aged beers a short walk from the Madison train station.
A homecoming years in the making
The brewery is the work of a husband and wife team, high school sweethearts who turned a shared love of good beer into a downtown Madison taproom. One half of the couple trained at brewing school in Belgium and spent years in California’s craft beer scene before bringing that experience back home to New Jersey. The result leans on two traditions the owners clearly love: the cozy British pub and the classic German brewery.
What is on tap
The beer program is built around hop forward ales and clean lagers, with a barrel aging program for drinkers who like something with a little more time behind it. The space itself is relaxed, with a small bar and plenty of tables made for lingering over a pint. New cans and fresh pours turn over often, so the list you find on one visit may look different on the next.
Hours and how to visit
The Rosecourt Brewery is at 3 Central Avenue in downtown Madison, steps from the shops and restaurants along Main Street. Current taproom hours are Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from noon to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m., with the taproom closed Monday and Tuesday. Hours and the current tap list are posted on the brewery’s Instagram page.
Madison has quietly become one of the county’s better small downtowns for a night out, and a neighborhood brewery gives locals one more reason to stay in town. If you are mapping out a fall visit, Rosecourt fits neatly alongside the county’s growing list of new businesses and things to do this September.
