Send me the listOne of Lincoln Park’s biggest community nights of the year is back. The Lincoln Park Police Department will host the 4th Annual Lincoln Park Night Out on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lanes Field, and the whole borough is invited.
What to expect at Lincoln Park Night Out
Part of the nationwide National Night Out movement, the evening is built around bringing neighbors together with the police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and public works crews who serve the community. Families can count on entertainment, games, giveaways, rides, and interactive activities, plus the chance to get up close to police, fire, EMS, and Department of Public Works vehicles and equipment. Food trucks will be on site with plenty to eat.
The event takes place at Lanes Field, 196 Ryerson Road, and admission is free. Over the past three years it has grown into one of the borough’s largest annual gatherings, pulling together residents, local businesses, community organizations, and first responders for one family-friendly evening.
Why Lincoln Park holds its Night Out on a Friday
National Night Out traditionally falls on the first Tuesday of August, which lands on August 4 this year. Lincoln Park moves its celebration to the following Friday so the borough’s volunteer firefighters and EMS members can take part, since so many of them work during the week. The whole idea behind the night is crime prevention awareness and building stronger ties between neighbors and the people who keep the community safe.
Local businesses and groups can still get involved
There is still time for the community to be part of the night. Local businesses, non-profits, community groups, and government agencies can host an informational or activity table by filling out the vendor application, which stays open through July 31. Vendors bring a free kid-friendly activity or giveaway rather than selling anything on site. Businesses can also sponsor the event, and sponsorships received by July 4 are featured on the promotional banners posted around town ahead of the big night.
