Boonton Fire Department Labor Day Weekend Carnival
The Boonton Fire Department Labor Day Weekend Carnival runs Thursday, September 3 through Sunday, September 6 at the Boonton High School field on Lathrop Avenue. Admission is free, and the midway brings amusement rides, games, and food. A Labor Day parade steps off on Saturday, September 5, and the weekend ends with a fireworks finale on Sunday, September 6.
Mendham Borough Pastime Club Carnival and Parade
In Mendham, the Pastime Club’s Labor Day carnival returns for its 83rd year, running Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7 at Mendham Borough Park. The midway has rides for all ages, games, food, and a nightly 50/50 raffle. The borough’s annual Labor Day parade steps off the morning of Monday, September 7, followed by a concert at the Borough Park gazebo and a fireworks display that evening. Scandinavian Fest at Vasa Park in Budd Lake
The 39th Scandinavian Fest brings Nordic food, live music, vendors, and Viking heritage to Vasa Park at 93 Wolfe Road in Budd Lake on Sunday, September 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival is rain or shine, with a cash bar on site (no outside alcohol, and no pets). Tickets are available at the gate or in advance through Scandinavian Fest.
Riverdale Labor Day Street Fair and Food Truck Fest
Riverdale closes out the weekend on Monday, September 7 with its annual Labor Day Street Fair and Food Truck Fest along the Newark Pompton Turnpike from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Expect more than 100 vendors, food trucks, rides, and live entertainment, all free to attend.
Worth the Drive: Dream Asia Festival in Augusta
About 45 minutes north of Morris County, Dream Asia Festival takes over the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta from Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7. This year it runs as a Rico Rico Fiesta edition, so more than 80 Asian and Latin food vendors share the grounds with daily Lucha Libre matches, K-pop and anime performances, a JDM car show, a Samba parade, and a kids zone with a bounce house and a petting zoo.
