This event has passed. Riverdale Labor Day Street Fair 2026 ran September 7. For what is happening now, see things to do in Morris County this weekend, fall festivals in Morris County and Halloween events and trick-or-treat times.

Riverdale’s Annual Labor Day Street Fair returns to the Newark Pompton Turnpike on Monday, September 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free, rain-or-shine block party closes the turnpike between Newbury Place and Cotluss Road and fills it with more than 100 vendors, food trucks, live music, and a kids zone, all hosted by the Borough of Riverdale.

When and Where

The fair runs on Labor Day Monday, September 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. along the Newark Pompton Turnpike, with the main stretch running from Newbury Place to Cotluss Road (the event is centered near 83 Newark Pompton Turnpike). Riverdale closes the road to traffic for the day, so the whole turnpike turns into one big walkable outdoor market. Admission is free and the fair happens rain or shine.

What to Expect

Organizers promise more than 100 exhibitors selling everything from retail goods to handmade pieces in a dedicated arts and crafts section at the Crafters Corner. Local merchants and civic organizations set up along the route too, so it is a good chance to see what Riverdale’s community groups are up to and grab a few giveaways. Between the shopping, a live entertainment area brings music, dancing, and karate demonstrations, with tables set out so you can sit and eat while you watch the show.

Come Hungry: 15-Plus Food Trucks

The Food Truck Fest side of the day brings more than 15 food trucks and food vendors. Expect sausage and pepper sandwiches, cheesesteaks, gyros, shish kabobs, fresh-cut fries, and oven-baked pizza, plus kettle corn, zeppole, Italian ice, ice cream, and fresh-squeezed lemonade. The event’s producer, JC Promotions, posts the full food and entertainment lineup as vendors are confirmed.

Bring the Kids

Families head straight for the Kidz Traveling Shindig, set up in the school parking lot area. It is packed with kiddie bounce rides, slides, interactive inflatables, face painters, sand art, and games, so the youngest fairgoers get their own corner of the fun.

Make a Day of It

The street fair is a fitting sendoff to summer in the northern corner of Morris County. If you are filling the weeks before Labor Day, our guide to things to do in Morris County in August 2026 rounds up the fairs, festivals, and community nights across the county, and our free summer concert series guide tracks the last of the free town concerts before the season winds down.

Riverdale’s Annual Labor Day Street Fair is Monday, September 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Newark Pompton Turnpike. Admission is free.
