Summer in Long Hill Township sounds a lot like live music on a Thursday night. The township’s free Dog Days of Summer Concert Series is back for 2026, and the bulk of the lineup is still ahead, with bands playing Kantor Park every Thursday evening through the middle of August.
The series is run by Long Hill Township Parks and Recreation, and the format could not be simpler. Shows start at 7 p.m. on the grass field at Kantor Park, admission is free, and families are encouraged to pack a picnic dinner, bring beach chairs or a blanket, and settle in for the evening.
The 2026 Dog Days of Summer lineup
The season opened in late June and runs every Thursday through August 13. Here is what is still on the schedule:
- July 2: Twilight Disciples (classic rock and pop)
- July 9: Rosewood (classic rock and pop)
- July 16: Street Hassle (classic rock)
- July 23: Silver Starlite Orchestra (big band)
- July 30: Lost in Place (classic rock)
- August 6: 4 Flight Rock (classic rock)
- August 13: EpicSoul Band (Motown, R&B, and soul)
The mix runs from classic rock and pop to a full big band night and a Motown and soul finale, so there is a little something for every taste across the summer.
What to know before you go
Concerts take place on the Kantor Park grass field, with shows starting at 7 p.m. The Scream Truck rolls in from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. each week, so the kids can grab ice cream while the band plays. If you have questions about parking or the walk to the field, the township asks that you reach Parks and Recreation at 908-647-8000, ext. 219 or 267.
Long Hill’s series is one of dozens of free outdoor concerts and events filling the Morris County calendar this summer.
