Send me the listThere is a certain magic to a summer Friday night when the music is free, the lawn chairs are out, and the whole town turns up. In Jefferson Township, that tradition is back. The Jefferson Arts Committee has launched its 2026 Free Summer Gazebo Concert Series, and live music returns to the township gazebo every Friday evening through the summer.
The series kicked off on Friday, June 26, with the Jefferson Township Community Concert and Jazz Bands, and it runs for eight weeks of free shows through Friday, August 21. Every concert starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Jefferson Township Gazebo, located at the Municipal Complex at 1033 Weldon Road in Oak Ridge.
Free music, every Friday
Admission is free, parking is free, and the whole evening is built for families. Opening night featured the township’s own Community Concert and Jazz Bands under the direction of Peter A. Tummillo, Jr., with a program of classics, Broadway numbers, marches, and patriotic favorites. The lineup rotates each week, so there is a new sound at the gazebo every Friday through the run of the series.
The 2026 lineup
Across the summer the lineup has run from classic rock and Motown to country, jazz, R&B, disco, and blues. Here is how the season closes out, with all shows starting at 6:30 p.m. at the gazebo:
- Friday, August 7: OC5
- Friday, August 14: Some Guys and a Broad
- Friday, August 21: Naughty Humphrey (season finale)
What to bring
Pack a chair or a blanket and settle in on the lawn. It is a bring your own setup for snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, with carry in, carry out trash. There is a port-a-john on site, and Frank Capello’s LIL ICE Trike Co. ice cream truck plans to roll up to many of the concerts with frozen treats for sale. Every show is free, though the committee welcomes free will donations to help keep the music going.
If it rains
The concerts are held outdoors, but the weather has a backup plan. If a show gets rained out, it moves up the street into the Jefferson Township High School Auditorium at 1010 Weldon Road.
