Send me the listThere is something about a warm summer night, a big screen, and a blanket on the grass that turns an ordinary Wednesday into a memory the whole family remembers. This summer, Morris Township is bringing that feeling back to Ginty Field with a season of free outdoor movie nights, and the first feature lights up the screen on July 1.
The Morris Township Department of Parks and Recreation runs the series every summer, and the 2026 edition is family friendly from the first frame to the last. Admission is free, the lawn is open to everyone, and all you really need to bring is something comfortable to sit on.
The 2026 Movie Lineup
Four films are spread across July and August, each on a Wednesday night:
- The SpongeBob Movie on Wednesday, July 1
- Smurfs on Wednesday, July 15
- Zootopia 2 on Wednesday, July 29
- Elio on Wednesday, August 12
As with most outdoor series, titles can shift based on public release schedules, so it is worth a quick check before you head over.
When and Where
All screenings take place at Ginty Field, 45 Woodland Avenue in Morris Township. The movies begin at dusk, which lands around 8:30 p.m. in midsummer, so families with younger kids may want to arrive early, spread out a blanket, and let everyone settle in before the sky goes dark.
What to Bring
Pack blankets or lawn chairs, a few snacks, and maybe a light layer for when the evening cools off. The field fills in quickly on a nice night, so getting there a little early is the easiest way to claim a good spot near the screen.
Make It a Full Summer
