Send me the listLive music fills the air in Rockaway Township every Sunday afternoon this summer, and it will not cost you a dime. The township’s free Summer Concert Series continues at the Park Lake Gazebo on Mt. Hope Road, with shows running from 3 to 5 p.m. every Sunday through August 30.
It is one of the easiest ways to spend a summer afternoon in the area. Pack a chair or a blanket, bring the family, and settle in by the lake for two hours of live music. The series is presented by the Township of Rockaway and plays on weather permitting.
The 2026 Rockaway Gazebo lineup
The Recreation Department has booked a full slate of local cover bands playing classic rock, oldies, and party favorites. Here is what is still to come on the 2026 schedule:
- July 19: Rave On, early rock and roll favorites
- July 26: Kings Road Band, a mix of pop and rock
- August 2: 3 Day Weekend, classic and party rock
- August 9: Reminisce, an oldies dance band
- August 16: Jersey Sound, old favorites to dance to
- August 23: 4 Man Trio, popular rock and roll
- August 30: Kings Road Band, a mix of pop and rock
The series opened earlier this month with the Rosewood Band on July 5 and the 4 Man Trio on July 12, and it runs every Sunday right through the end of August.
Know before you go
Concerts take place at the Park Lake Gazebo, 8 Mount Hope Road in Rockaway. Admission and parking are free. There is no rain date built into the schedule, so shows go on weather permitting, and the township’s recreation hotline at (973) 983-2853 is updated only when a concert is canceled or changed.
Seating is not provided, so bring your own lawn chairs or a blanket. The lakeside setting is stroller and family friendly, and it pairs easily with an early dinner nearby.
